While the summer has been a time of rest and reflection, it has also provided a bountiful source of inspiration and growth for Zensational Kids. I’m excited to share with you the following highlights and happenings:
New Course: Educate 2B: Tools for Engaged Learning and Living
Developed over the past 5 years and piloted in elementary and middle school classrooms in Northern New Jersey, the Educate 2B Program has been designed to educate classroom teachers, therapists and counselors on techniques to guide students through breath, movement and mindfulness activities. The purpose is to teach students specific tools to help them self-regulate, focus, connect to themselves and others and prepare their mind and body to be ready to learn. Our comprehensive, fully illustrated manual provides detailed information of the neuroscience behind these practices and the connection to learning. To find out about our next training, visit our schedule page.
As an added development, I am collaborating with physical therapy students from Touro College in NYC, to do some research on our Educate 2B Program. We will be looking at the effects that breath, movement and mindfulness have on self-regulation as well as facilitating the acquisition of IEP goals in the areas of physical, cognitive and emotional development. Please visit www.ZensationalKids.com for more information on the Educate 2B Program (and our other programs, too!)
New Book | Wisdom Within
I am thrilled to share with you that a dream has been realized, and my very first Children’s Book has officially been published! Entitled, Wisdom Within, happiness, joy and compassion as our birthright are explored and celebrated. Every living thing in nature has its own inner wisdom. Within a tiny seed is the wisdom of how to grow into a strong tall tree. As part of nature, we too have inner wisdom that has the power to guide us through a joyful life. Through the use of rhyming verse and brilliant illustrations, parents and children re-discover their wisdom within and how to connect to it. At the end of the story, there are child-friendly, illustrated yoga poses and mindful meditations relating to the elements of nature contained in the story. Parents are provided with an easy to use guide to introduce movement, breath and meditation to their child in a fun, creative and interactive way. The book is $14.99 + shipping and is available for purchase on www.ZensationalKids.com.
