I have been a ConvertKit customer for years and thought I was pretty good at email automation, but it is only after taking Mastering ConvertKit that I have truly understood and been able to unlock its true potential.
I knew that Brennan Dunn was clever at email automation, but looking over his shoulder and gaining insight into the processes he implements in his own business has been enlightening. This course takes using ConvertKit to the next level.
Imagine this:
By mid-July of 2021, your ConvertKit account is finally at the point where you could take a few weeks off and there’d be zero sales hiccups.
You bought into email marketing automation because you wanted to be in a position where you could “sell while you sleep”, but how do you get there?
…And where do you start?
Until recently, my go-to answer was: “buy my course, Mastering ConvertKit.”
But many of you have said that you’re looking for personal help, and not just information. Something Done-With-You.
You’re running a business, and you want results.
You want to be guided by someone who knows what they’re doing, and can help you implement tried-and-true systems.
And you don’t really want to muck around with trial-and-error. You want to follow in the footsteps of others and build a reliable, turnkey system that handles the nurturing and selling for you.
I set up Brennans initial automation and sequences, by the book, in March. Up to then, my email funnel converted 5-10 of my yearly memberships per month. This had been the usual for the last year.
Since turning on the new automation, I now get about 5 times that. This has added 5 figures to my sales each month, and is still rising. Many thanks to Brennan and team for the excellent strategy and course. It’s made a quicker and more noticeable difference to my business and income than anything else I’ve tried over the last 5 years.
You bring your business and your understanding of your audience to the table.
I’ll bring the ConvertKit expertise and experience.
In just 4 weeks, we’ll:
Create your most valuable marketing asset: a new Lessons-Bridge-Pitch-Survey system that automatically segments new subscribers, sends them a personalized educational onboarding sequence, pitches them on a product/service, and (if they don’t buy) finds out why.
Repurpose your existing emails and content to create a Shadow Newsletter that keeps you front and center without needing to be on the “content hamster wheel.”
Clean up and document everything that’s in your account. No longer will you worry about messing something up. You’ll have the confidence and knowhow to continue adding new automations and sequences to your account without overloading subscribers with loads of email or breaking anything.
Increase sales. Reduce (or totally eliminate) your reliance on live launches. Add automation that both frees you from constantly needing to log in to ConvertKit, and delivers a better UX to your list. Boost your list’s “viral coefficient” (referrals.) The money is in the list – and, together, we’ll permanently upgrade the lifetime value of your email list.
Every Monday, I’ll show you what we’ll be working on that week and dig in to the technicals. Every Thursday, we’ll meet as a group and I’ll answer any questions you have or review your work live. (Calls will be at 12pm Eastern US time and last up to 2 hours.)
We’ll keep in touch throughout the week in Slack. And on Friday’s, we’ll have “show and tell” – you’ll be able to share what you’ve been working on that week and get feedback from the group.
My name is Brennan Dunn, and I’m the host of Mastering ConvertKit: Live.
I’ve been dabbling in marketing automation for over 10 years now. First with Mailchimp, then Infusionsoft, later Drip, and now I’ve finally settled on ConvertKit. Over the years, I’ve spoken at numerous conferences, hosted workshops, and have appeared on dozens of podcasts extolling the virtues of email marketing done right.
I can’t wait to work with you!
A bit of a funny anecdote: before Nathan Barry started ConvertKit, he and I would host private marketing workshops around the world (here’s a video “trailer” of one we did in London.) It’s amazing how things have come full circle!
Here’s our schedule (and, remember, if you can’t make a particular live event everything is recorded!)
Meet & Greet
Join me and the rest of the cohort for an informal get together before things kick off. We'll introduce each other and our businesses, and dig in to a bit more about each person's goals in joining.
Week 1: "Foundations" Training
This week is all about the foundations of your business. I'll show you how to get your segmentation and automations in order, and create "living documentation" that will initially be used to capture how your current account works, and also supporting future modifications to your account.
Week 1: Office Hours
Let's talk live about what you've done this week. If you're stuck and need some help, we can share your screen and take a look at your account / documentation.
Week 1: Show & Tell
We'll share our accomplishments in Slack, and you'll wrap up the work week knowing that you've permanently improved how your ConvertKit account is set up and organized.
Week 2: "LBPS" Training
This week we're going to create the automation that's going to handle the capturing, nurturing, pitching, and segmentation of all new subscribers. This is going to be the most valuable marketing asset in your business.
Week 2: Office Hours
Let's talk live about what you've done this week. Whether you're stuck trying to figure out what educational content you'll be setting up or how to technically set everything up, I'll be there live to help you out.
Week 2: Show & Tell
You probably won't have your entire onboarding and pitch sequences written this quickly, but you'll have your flow defined and everything set up in ConvertKit. Today you'll show the group how you plan on showing new subscribers how badass your email list is!
Week 3: "Shadow Newsletter + Offer Funnel" Training
With new subscriber onboarding and pitching out of the way, this week we're going to get you set up with an evergreen newsletter and template that's also charged with promoting and pitching exactly what someone should do next.
Week 3: Office Hours
Let's review what you've created so far. Need some help getting your offer funnel set up or showing in your new evergreen newsletter? If so, we'll get your screen shared and get you sorted.
Week 3: Show & Tell
Let's show off your newly created automated newsletter! Helloooo being able to take a few weeks off without worrying about your list going "cold" or having sales dry up.
Week 4: "Wrapping It All Up" Training
You're on a roll: ✓ Better organized ConvertKit account. ✓ New system for onboarding and pitching. ✓ Fully automated newsletter that delivers personalized pitches weekly. Now it's time to optimize for more subscribers and set up what's needed to track and tweak your "System" over time.
Week 4: Office Hours
Need some help in tying everything together? I'll be available over Zoom to answer any and all questions you have about what we've created.
Week 4: Show & Tell
You've done it! You've permanently "upgraded" your ConvertKit account. It's time to show the group how much has changed over the last month.
Coaching + Strategy Call with Brennan
You'll probably have a few bits of content you still need to create before flipping the switch and putting everything live. But once you're ready, you and I will meet 1-on-1 for an hour and go over everything you've created so far. I'll also advise on what I'd do next given what I know about you and your business.
Want to work together? Click the “Apply” link below to tell me a bit about your business. And if I think your business will get a lot out of this experience, I’ll send you over the next steps to get you fully onboarded.
No, but it’s recommended.
The plan of action I teach you to execute on throughout the live class is extracted out of MCK. However, not everything I teach in MCK will be covered in the live class.
So, for example, in the live class I won’t be getting into arcane subjects like sending SMS messages to complement the emails you send during an evergreen pitch. My course, MCK, teaches you how to do this. My recommendation would be to either go through MCK, or at least the “Foundations” module, in advance of the live class OR to go through it shortly afterward and expand / shore up the work we do in the live class.
I’ve intentionally limited the size of each group to 10 people. Some cohort-based courses have dozens or even hundreds of participants, which – at least in my mind – takes away from how well the person, or people, teaching can truly get to know the customers and their needs.
Every live Zoom call will have plenty of time carved out for discussions, either as a group or between you and me. These also won’t be calls where I’m just rambling off a presentation. Rather, we’ll all have our mics and cameras active and get as close to the feeling of having a small group around a conference table as possible.
As a customer, you’re welcome to DM me at any time with anything. I have a newborn at home and try to work normal “work hours”, so I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to reply immediately – but I absolutely will the next time I’m at my desk.
If it’s just one or two sessions, that’s fine – the recordings will be made available.
But if you’re not able to consistently make the live sessions, I’d ask you to join during a future cohort when you will have the time.
